Microneedling

We use a state-of-the art medical microneedling device designed to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and scars on the face and body. It allows a controlled induction of the skin’s self-repair process by creating thousands of precise micro-injuries in the dermis, automatically triggering new collagen synthesis.

Who is a candidate and how many treatments will I need?

Microneedling is safe for all skin types during all four seasons of the year. Generally, 3-6 treatments are necessary for deeper lines and acne scars. We offer packages of 3 and 6 treatments depending on the needs of the patient.

What does microneedling feel like?

Microneedling is a comfortable procedure. A topical numbing agent is applied to the skin prior to treatment. Most patients report feeling only slight pin pricks and vibrations of microneedling pen during the procedure.

What is the downtime after microneedling

The downtime with microneedling is very minimal. Allow 24-48 hours for the skin to return to normal. The skin may feel slightly rough and may appear bronzed (like a suntan) through day 4-5 post treatment. Makeup is ok to use 24 hours post treatment. No sun exposure for 24 hours – a physical sunscreen is recommended daily to protect the skin.

What can I expect to look like after my treatment? The skin will appear slightly pink to red immediately post-procedure and may feel warm like a mild to moderate sunburn. There may be some temporary pinpoint bleeding, especially in patients with rosacea or pink flushing undertones at baseline.

The most common treatment responses experienced are dryness, rough skin, tightness, redness, itching, peeling, mild discomfort, mild tenderness, and mild sunburn type sensation. These conditions resolve over time without any further complications.
